First Christmas!

December was huge, there was a lot going on including Kyra's 4 month check up.  As of December 23rd she was weighing in at 15.6  pounds (75-90 Percentile), 24.75" (50-75 Percentile) and her head was 16.25" (75-90 Percentile).  This proves that she is undoubtedly taking after her father as big heads run in the Albers clan!

Apparently holidays mean that daycare is closed...alot.  Christmas Eve was Kyra's first official "take your daughter to work day."  She came to hang out at the mall, we got her picture taken with Santa (We were first in line, I pulled a few strings.) and had an otherwise unproductive morning at the office. We headed to Iowa at noon and the festivities ensued.  We spent the evening with my family and after a relaxing morning prepared to go to Lawton to meet Scott's family for lunch on Christmas Day.  We had everything under control, it's only a 5 minute drive, the baby was fed by 11:30, I put on her Christmas outfit and at 11:45 we were ready to take our happy family picture before walking out the door and actually be on time!  Here's the picture.

Now look at the next picture and see if you can notice the difference.

That's right, we were all posed for the camera and Kyra managed to poop on my foot.  The most miraculous thing about this feat is that it went up and out the back of her pants, got minimal poop on her outfit and none on my clothes.  After the initial moment of shock, Nana sprung into action since I couldn't walk across her carpet.  She got the baby cleaned up, rinsed out the edges of her outfit and dried it with a hair dryer while Grand Dad and I cleaned the carpet. You can see from the picture he was Johhny on the spot trying to catch any drips with a toy teapot lid.  He made the comment that he will not feel guilty if he has any accidents at my house in his Golden Years several times, I almost felt like he was making a plan.  We were only 15 minutes late and not the last people to arrive at lunch which was also pretty miraculous.

Three days of family and Christmas later, we brought home an exhausted and spoiled baby, and we wouldn't have it any other way.  We doubled down and did the whole thing over again for New Year's Eve weekend.  Just substitute "taking the baby to the office" with "having a baby sitter lined up who got stuck on the farm in an ice storm and had to cancel" for the Friday morning activity.  After two weeks straight of this Kyra decided she just couldn't sleep without being held.  We're still paying for that one a little bit but have been able to get her to sleep in her crib on the first try the last two nights in a row, which almost constitutes a streak!

Aunt Rissa's turn to hold me
We got all kinds of great gifts for Christmas, even though I really tried to make a conscious effort not to over do it.  She had no clue what was going on for the opening and enjoyed the paper just as much as what was inside it for the most part.

Opening some books
Loving the Bumbo Chair that Santa brought!

We're really enjoying the new excer-saucer too!
